Softball

2017 Spring Break Blog: Day 7

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Spring break 2017 has begun for Bethel University sport teams, as many teams have made their way to warmer climates for the week off of school. Throughout the nine-day period, we'll try to keep you up-to-date on all the happenings of each team traveling for spring break. In addition to reading our daily blog on bethelroyals.com, be sure to follow us on our twitter and instagram for more in-depth information. Fans can also join in the conversation by using the hashtag #BUSB17 in their social media use.

Baseball 

The Bethel University baseball team improved to 9-3 overall and 5-2 during their spring break trip with a 12-0 shutout over Wisconsin Lutheran College Friday afternoon. The Royals collected 17 hits and limited the Warriors to just four throughout the nine-inning affair. Bryce Marquardt finished 3-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch, two runs, and one RBI. Esteban Velasco, Bret Neuville, Austin Ledin, and John Horner all finished with a pair of hits, while Ledin, Horner, and Lars Anderson each posted a pair of RBI. Noah Luedtke improved to 2-0 on the season after allowing three hits, zero walks, and eight strikeouts in 7.0 innings pitched. He's now lowered his season ERA to 1.80 after 15.0 innings pitched. Grant Martinson pitched a 1-2-3 eighth inning with two strikeouts, while Jake Marsh was able to start the ninth with a strikeout and finish the game with a 6-4-3 double play. Bethel's spring break trip schedule continues with a twin bill Saturday against Lasell College. First pitch against the Lasers is scheduled for noon (ET).
 
Men's Golf 

The Bethel University men's golf team took on Coastal Carolina Friday afternoon at General James Hackler Golf Course. Noah Bragg and Alex Case led the Royals with an 18-hole score of 75 and 79, respectively. 

Women's Golf 
 
The Bethel University women's golf team closed out their spring break trip with an off day Friday. The Royals spent their day at the beach and will return home Saturday.

Softball 
 
The Bethel University softball team closed out their spring break trip with a pair of setbacks Friday afternoon. The Royals dropped game one to Ohio Wesleyan 0-3 and game two to Keene State 0-10. Anna Nichols allowed just two earned runs and one walk, while striking out one in 6.0 innings pitched against OWU. Wendy Roberts finished 2-for-6 at the plate, while freshman Emily Eaton went 2-for-4 with one walk. BU's next set of contests take place Saturday, March 25 at Pella, Iowa, when they face Simpson College at 12:30 p.m. and Central College at 4 p.m.

Men's and Women's Tennis 
 
The Bethel University men's and women's tennis team enjoyed their off day before heading back to Minnesota Friday.  
 
Men's and Women's Track and Field
 
The Bethel University men's and women's track and field team endured a final tune-up before Saturday's Ross and Sharon Irwin Meet hosted by Point Loma University at 9 a.m. (PT). Heat Sheets
