Week 10 Preview: Royals Host Pipers in Season Finale
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Bethel University's football team plays host to Hamline University in their season finale on Saturday, November 11 at 1 p.m. Saturday's matchup between Hamline and Bethel will be the 54th meeting between these two opponents. The Pipers hold a 27-26 advantage over the Royals, dating back to their first game in 1952. Bethel has been victorious in the last 21 meetings, however, dating back to 1996. BU has defeated Hamline by a combined score of 292-68 in the last seven contests.
Bethel closed out the 2016 season with a 17-14 victory over Hamline on a sunny, but windy mid-November afternoon at Klas Field. The Royals held a lead throughout nearly the entire game, but needed a game-winning 31-yard field goal from Blake Hottle with 2:30 remaining in the contest to edge the Pipers down the stretch.
