Brubaker's Goal Gives Bethel the Edge Over Gustavus, 1-0

ST. PETER, Minn. - Becca Brubaker scored her first career goal in the 70th minute for the Bethel University women's soccer team to give the Royals a 1-0 victory over the Gustavus Adolphus College Golden Gusties Saturday afternoon. In a very evenly played game, Brubaker's goal was the difference as the junior center-mid capitalized to give Bethel their second win in their last three games. The Royals outshot the Gusties by one, 11-10 and 6-4 on shots on goal.

The Royals defense was once again outstanding and goalie Kaylee Peterson made four saves. The shutout was the fourth of the season for the Royals who have allowed just 11 goals in 11 games played this season,

The win improves Bethel to 5-5-1 overall on the season and 2-4 in the MIAC. Gustavus falls to 7-4-1 and 3-3 in the MIAC. The Royals next action comes Tuesday when they host Hamline University at 4 p.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
