NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team fell victim to a penalty kick goal by the Carleton College Knights in a 1-0 defeat on the road in Northfield, Minnesota. The Knights score game in the 67th minute while the Royals were shutout for the fourth consecutive game. Carleton outshot Bethel 22-10 and 7-2 in shots on goal.
Jakob Bartels was solid in goal for Bethel, making six saves with the lone score coming on a converted penalty kick.
The loss drops Bethel to 1-6-1 in the MIAC and 3-10-2 overall with two contests remaining on the season. The Royals travel to Concordia College and Moorhead, Minnesota on Tuesday before hosting St. Thomas in the season finale on Saturday.
