Box Score 2 EAU CLAIRE, Wis.—Bethel University's volleyball team responded well after Friday's nonconference loss against UW-Eau Claire with a pair of non-MIAC wins over St. Norbert College and UW-Stout Saturday afternoon. The Royals (10-3, 0-1 MIAC) topped the Green Knights in the opening match 3-1 followed by a 3-0 sweep against the Blue Devils.

BU dropped the first set against St. Norbert 25-21, but came back firing on all cylinders in sets two, three, and four. The Royals topped SNC 25-21 in the second, 25-21 in the third, and 25-18 in the fourth. Bethel totaled 67.5 points on 55 kills, five aces, and seven blocks, while also recording 45 assists and 62 digs.

Leading the Royals offensively was
Tina Hoppe, who slammed 20 kills and finished with a .395 attacking percentage throughout the match. Hoppe also amassed 11 digs and one ace from the service stripe. Also finishing with double-digit kills was
Callie Sinclair, who went for 14 kills, 13 digs, and 2.5 blocks in Saturday's opener.

Holly Ellwanger led Bethel from the setter position, as the sophomore transfer manufactured 24 assists, seven kills, and five digs. Her 24 assists are the second-most while wearing a BU jersey and her seven kills are a season-best.
Katie Lubben was right behind Ellwanger with 21 assists, one ace, and nine digs. Also coming up big defensively was
Dominique Dabu, who finished with 19 digs.

The Royals continued their dominance in the second match of the day, as they cruised to a 3-0 victory over UW-Stout. BU sandwiched a 25-15 win over Stout in the second set between a 25-20 victory in the first and third. Bethel totaled 48.5 points on 34 kills, nine aces, and five blocks, while also recording 30 assists and 45 digs.

Tina Hoppe led the Royals once again with 11 kills and a .300 hitting percentage on 30 attempts, while also posting eight digs and one block assist.
Karin Canakes and
Callie Sinclair both added seven kills. Sinclair also contributed two block assists and seven digs.

Dominique Dabu and
Katie Lubben both had match-high's from their respective position, as Dabu led all players with 16 digs and Lubben the same with 16 assists. Behind Lubben was
Holly Ellwanger, who composed 12 assists, four aces, and seven digs.

Now 10-3 on the season, Bethel returns to MIAC play Wednesday night, when they travel to Northfield to take on Carleton College at 7 p.m.
