MENOMONIE, Wis.—Bethel University's softball team traveled to Menomonie, Wisconsin Sunday afternoon for a nonconference doubleheader against the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The Royals (17-19) fell in game one 0-2, but managed to come back in game two and defeat the Blue Devils (18-18) by a final score of 6-4.

Lindsay Edeen surrendered seven hits and one walk in 6.0 innings of game one, while also striking out four. The Royals mustered five hits—one for five different players—throughout the contest, but BU was unable to string multiple hits together in a single frame.

Karli Persson picked up win No. 9 on the season in game two, as she went the distance in Bethel's 6-4 victory. Persson allowed three hits and five walks, while also striking out four and allowing zero earned runs.

BU's offense recorded eight hits, six walks, and six runs at the plate. Seniors
Abbie Bircher,
Kalyn Sorensen, and
Micayla Moore all posted multiple hits in the victory. Bircher went 2-for-4 with three runs, Sorensen finished 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBI, and Moore went 2-for-3 with one run scored.
Caroline Kivisto also went 1-for-2 with two walks and run runs.

The Royals closeout their season Monday afternoon, when they host the season finale against Carleton College. First pitch against the Knights is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
