BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team cruised to a 5-0 victory over Northland College Friday night. Five different Royals scored goals while six different Royals tallied assists. Bethel outshot Northland 45-18 on the night.
Natalie Simons and
Kirsten Olson scored in the first period for Bethel as they took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
Kaitlyn VanTassel and
Lauren Kolak assisted on Simons goal while Geary and Simons assisted Olson. The second period saw the Royals tack on two more scores from
Sarina Goos and
Wendy Roberts.
Megan O'Brian and
Leah Younkers tallied the assists.
Abby Felton scored the lone third period goal for Bethel with assists to Kolak and VanTassel.
Michelle Klimstra started in net for the Royals and played the first 48 minutes, making 16 saves, before Michelle Topor took over and stopped a pair of LumberJill shots in her first action of the season.
The Royals and Jills will faceoff again Saturday afternoon in Bethel University Arena at 3 p.m. in what will be the final action of the first semester for Bethel.
