MINNEAPOLIS—Bethel University's four-game winning streak against conference opponents came to an end Saturday, as Augsburg College, who is still unbeaten in conference play, handed BU a 3-0 setback. The Royals (14-8, 4-4 MIAC) gave the Auggies (14-6, 8-0 MIAC) all they could handle, but fell short by the final scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 26-24.

Bethel managed 46.0 points on 36 kills, five aces, and five blocks, while Augsburg composed 61.0 points on 52 kills, three aces, and six blocks. BU recorded 34 assists and 72 digs, opposed to the Auggies, who finished with 45 and 82, respectively.

Holly Ellwanger and
Carlee Hoppe gave the Royals solid performances, as each finished with a double-double Saturday. Ellwanger tallied 22 assists, 15 digs, and two aces, while Hoppe had a team-high 11 kills and 15 digs.
Tina Hoppe was second on the team in kills with nine to go alongside her 11 digs and
Dominique Dabu was third in digs with 12.

The road ahead doesn't get any easier for the Royals, as they travel to Winona Friday, October 21 to face Saint Mary's, who is 21-3 (5-2 MIAC) overall, and return home Saturday, October 22 to take on St. Thomas, who is 16-7 (5-2 MIAC).
