ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - On a beautiful Saturday afternoon the Bethel University men's soccer team enjoyed a homecoming win over Augsburg, 1-0. Danny Jaderholm scored the lone goal of the day for the Royals, with Carson Thomas and JT Thweatt assisting.
"The goal we scored was top notch, Bethel head coach Jeremy Iwaszkowiec said. "JT Thweatt worked hard to win a turnover. He quickly played it to Connor Miller who played it to Carson Thomas who played a beautiful one touch ball to Danny and he made no mistakes on the finish."
The game was evenly played with both teams getting 11 shots. The Royals defense stepped up time and time again and Sam Asfahl had two saves to preserve the shutout for the Royals.
"Our defensive game plan worked well and our guys really worked hard to make it difficult for Augsburg," coach Iwaszkowiec said.
With the sun shining and a good crowd at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex, the men's soccer team got a much need conference win, their first.
"It was a beautiful day and a great crowd," Iwaszkowiec said. "We are thankful for both."
The Royals will have a week off before their next game Saturday against St. John's University at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex at 3:30 pm.
