Box Score ST. PETER, Minn.—The Bethel University men's basketball team suffered a heart-breaking loss at Gustavus Adolphus College on Wednesday night, as the Royals (12-5, 7-5 MIAC) dropped a MIAC test to the Gusties (8-10, 5-8) by a final score of 75-82. BU had a chance to tie with 1:36 remaining in the game, but a pair of missed free throws allowed GAC to close out the game with a seven-point victory.

Bethel finished the night shooting 43.8 percent from the floor and 31.8 percent from the field, but Gustavus raised BU with a shooting percentage of 49.1 and a 3-point mark of 69.2. To make matters worse for the Royals, BU shot just 12-of-19 from the foul line, opposed to GAC, who shot 17-of-21.

The Royals dominated inside, as they outscored Gustavus 42-24 in the paint. Moreover, BU dropped 10 fast-break points, opposed to GAC's zero. But the Gustie bench poured in 27 points, while Bethel's was held to just 14.

Bridgeport Tusler had an exceptional performance, as the sophomore guard finished with 23 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Also scoring in double digits was
Trevor Hall,
Brycen Wojta, and
Kyle von_Schmidt-Pauli. Hall recorded 14 points, four boards, four assists, and three steals, while Wojta manufactured 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists. VSP added 10 points.

The Gusties were led by Brian Jacobs, who scored 20 points on 7-of-10 shooting.

Bethel will try to put an end to its two-game skid Saturday afternoon, when they host Saint John's University for a 3 p.m. contests. The Royals will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 1991 men's basketball team that reached the NCAA Division III Playoffs at the half time intermission.Â
