Anna Browning at No.6 singles, is the first match won by Bethel against the Gusties since 1999 and only the second ever.

Anna Browning, not just because she won but because of the effort she put forth, even diving for balls on occasion," Royals head coach
Drew Fernelius said. "She was battered, bruised and bloodied but fought her way to a win."
Brownings match was won in the third-set tie-break as the match went 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6). Despite the score of 8-3, the match at No. 1 doubles was a very close match as the Royals tandem of
Kristin Vivian and
Abby Kreklau put up a good fight. At. No. 5 singles
Larissa Voss held an early lead in her first set but eventually fell 6-4, 6-1.
"We really showed that we have some depth on this squad and can compete with the top teams in the conference," said coach Fernelius.
The loss was the first of the season in MIAC play for Bethel, dropping them to 3-1 in the MIAC. Overall, Bethel is now 5-2, their other loss came back in the fall to UW-Oshkosh. The Royals will take on Carleton College next Friday in their final match before spring break.
