Falcons Stop Royals in Final Non-Conference Game

RIVER FALLS, Wis.- The Bethel University women's soccer team was blanked by a 4-0 score by the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in their final non-conference game of the 2015 season. Playing under the lights at UWRF, the Falcons scored the game's first goal seven minutes in and never looked back. They added two more goals in the first period to take a 3-0 lead into the half. The Falcons outshot Bethel 17-5 in the first half while the second period was much more even as the Royals were able to match the Falcons eight second half shots. Unfortunately for Bethel, they were unable to score while UWRF added one more final goal in the 60th minute. Four different Royals were able to get shots on goal while Bethel goalkeepers made 11 saves. Jess Gapinski and Kathryn McGaffey played a half each in net.

The loss drops Bethel to 3-12 overall on the season. The Royals have three contests remaining on the season, all within MIAC competition, as they will host Concordia and Macalester each of the next two Saturdays with a trip to Hamline in between. Saturday's home match with the Cobbers will begin at 3:30 p.m.
