ST. PETER, Minn. – The Bethel University women's soccer team fell by a 3-0 score to the Gustavus Adolphus College Golden Gusties Saturday afternoon. The MIAC leading Gusties scored their first goal just over three minutes into the game and tacked on a pair of goals in the second half to keep the Royals winless in MIAC action thus far. The win for Gustavus keeps them two points ahead of second place St. Thomas in the MIAC standings.
While the Gusties had 23-6 shots advantage the Royals earned and advantage with four corner kicks to just three for the Gusties. Four different Royals were able to get a shot on goal in the game while Jessica Gapinski made eight saves in goal for Bethel.
The Royals take a quick break from MIAC play to take on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in their final non-conference game of the season on Wednesday afternoon. The match will take place at night with a 7 p.m. start in River Falls.
