Augsburg Blanks Bethel, 2-0

Box Score

MINNEAPOLIS – The Bethel University men's soccer team was shutout for the fourth consecutive game Tuesday night at Augsburg College, 2-0. The Auggies were able to score early in each half, including 53 seconds after the opening kick, avenging a loss to Bethel in 2013.

AJ Syler made 11 saves for Bethel while Ryan Ness and Luke Chase were the only Royals to have a shot on goal in the contest. Augsburg goalie Nick Lenertz made three saves for the shutout. Bethel has not scored since the second half against Crown College on September 13th, which was the final goal of 22 over a four-game winning streak. The Royals now find themselves on the other end of a four-game streak.

Bethel falls to 0-2 in the MIAC while Augsburg improved to 2-0. The Royals are now 4-5 overall and will look to snap out of their recent drought Saturday at Carleton College. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
