Results

LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team fell to No. 6 ranked Carleton College 9-0 Friday evening at the Lakeville Lifetime Fitness. The Royals and Knights played the singles matches first while doubles followed, a change from the normal format. Abby Edin was the Royals top performer in singles play as she won her first set and took a lead early in the second before falling in a third set tie-break, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6, at No. 1 singles. Larissa Voss was also very competitive in her match at No. 5 singles but fell 6-4, 6-3.

"We were down 0-6 after singles which didn't give us much momentum going into doubles," said Royals head coach Drew Fernelius. "But, the girls kept competing all the way through. I am really excited about the improvement the girls are making."

Bethel fell to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in the MIAC on the season. The Royals will take on another of the top competitors in the MIAC next Sunday in St. Catherine's University at 4 p.m. at the Baseline Tennis Center.
