ST. PETER, Minn.—A 38-25 margin going into the locker room at half helped the Bethel University men's basketball team take down Gustavus Adolphus College on the road Wednesday night 68-60. The Royals (8-3, 4-2 MIAC) utilized nearly 50 percent shooting from the floor and 45 percent shooting from downtown to top the Golden Gusties (8-4, 5-2 MIAC), who sit in second place within the conference standings—just a half game ahead of BU.

Brycen Wojta had a career night for Bethel, as the freshman poured in 26 points on 9-of-12 shooting, including a pair of buckets from beyond the arc. Wojta was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line, while also hauling down five boards, dishing four assists, and swiping three steals.

Freshman teammate and roommate,
Jackson Canfield, was the only other Royal to score in double figures, as the Maple Grove, Minn., native added 12 points, four rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Trevor Hall and
Luke Buttenhoff each finished with nine points, with "Booty" adding five rebounds and Hall three.

Bethel dominated the Golden Gusties in the paint—outscoring the home team 36-10 inside. Moreover, the Royals scored 34 points off turnovers—opposed to Gustavus's three. GAC was held to three steals, while Bethel finished with 13 and the Royals outmatched Gustavus in turnovers—finishing with an 11-18 advantage.

BU converted 25-of-53 shots (49.1 percent) from the field Wednesday night, including 5-of-11 (45.5 percent) from long range. Bethel also made 11-of-14 shots (78.6 percent) from the charity stripe.

The Royals will host Hamline University Saturday afternoon, following a 1 p.m. matchup between the two women's squads. The Pipers come into Saturday's matinee with a 3-4 record in league play. Suggested tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
