ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—A recent publication by Breibart Sports, a news and opinion website, showcased the top 2,000 basketball players in the country that do not attend an NCAA Division I institutions. Ranked at No. 13 among all players considered and No. 3 among all Division III student-athletes was Bethel's
Taylor Hall (Sr., Blaine, Minn.).
Breibart Sports recently ranked the top NCAA Division I players, however, after receiving many requests for best players to not get a full scholarship Breibart went to work on top non-Division I players.
The top 50 players were given a player rating according to
www.valueaddbasketball.com based upon how they compare to other student-athletes nationwide. Hall's rating of 82.9 is just behind the No. 2 Division III player from Mitchell College, as his point and rebound totals both rank in the top 30 nationwide.
As of February 11, Hall was ranked in the top 40 NCAA Division III players in four categories. Specifically, Hall's 22.0 points per game ranked No. 11, his 9.7 rebounds ranked No. 32, his ten double doubles ranked No. 27, and his field goal percentage of 57.4 ranked No. 39.
Hall and the Royals are heading into a pivotal game Saturday against Macalester, as they are in a fight for the last three spots in the MIAC Playoffs. Currently in sixth place, Bethel needs to win and they are guaranteed a seat at the proverbial postseason table, however, a Gustavus and Carleton loss would place the Royals as high as fourth. BU will honor its five seniors before the 3 p.m. tipoff against the Scots, which follows the women's conference matchup at 1 p.m.
