ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – A big performance by
Taylor Hall helped the Royals get its third conference and seventh overall win Saturday, defeating St. Olaf College at home 74-64. Hall's 35 points and 18 rebounds assisted Bethel (7-4, 3-3 MIAC), as it secured its fifth consecutive victory and improved BU to No. 5 in the MIAC standings.
Bethel relied on more than simply
Taylor Hall Saturday afternoon—considering the Royals shot 50 percent in the second half and held the opposing Oles (3-8, 2-3 MIAC) to just 36.9 percent shooting in the competition. Additionally, BU completed 80 percent (28-of-35) of its free throw opportunities and outrebounded St. Olaf 45-31.
Three other Bethel players scored double digits in Saturday's matinee, as both
Quinn Gorski (Jr., Batavia, Ill.) and Kyle Zimmerman (Jr., Champlin, Minn.) scored 12 points while
JD Robinson (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) added 10. Zimmerman contributed eight rebounds and Gorski tallied five assists in the league affair.
The Royals are trending upward at just the right time, as they meet first-place St. Thomas Monday at the Robertson Center Gym. The Tommies are a perfect 10-0 on the season, with a 5-0 record in conference play. Meanwhile, Bethel is looking for its sixth straight win after beginning the season 2-4.
