DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Bethel University men's soccer team dropped a non-conference match at the University of Dubuque by a score of 7-1 Wednesday evening. The lone goal of the night for the Royals was scored Kolten Fischer (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) in the 79th minute off of a penalty kick. All seven Dubuque goals came before Fischer's score.

Dubuque scored twice in the first period then came out firing in the second, scoring four goals within the first 13 minutes after the half. For the game the Royals were outshot 23-3. Dubuque improved to 5-2 on the year with the victory while the Royals fell to 1-6.

Bethel will now return home to face off with Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) opponent St. Mary's Saturday afternoon. The Royal men will kickoff at approximately 3 p.m. following the conclusion of the women's game which begins at 1 p.m. St. Mary's enters the game with a 2-4 record and 0-2 in MIAC play.
