ST. PETER, Minn. – In the last match of the 2012 season, the Bethel University women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 by Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Saturday. Due to the outside weather conditions, the teams squared off indoors, however, the Gusties still controlled the match.
As consistent as they have been all season long,
Amanda Johnson and
Charise Kendrick came to the closest victory of the day in the number three doubles match. Johnson and Kendrick fell in the end though, losing 8-6.
Lisa Scheevel (Jr., St. Cloud, Minn.) was able to muster four points in one set, however, fell 6-1, 6-4 in the number one singles matchup. Meanwhile,
Steph Brown (Jr., Lake City, Minn.) captured three points in the first set, but was outdueled 6-3, 6-0.
Bethel ends its season 6-13 overall and 1-8 within conference play.
