In February, members of the 2012 Bethel baseball team donated their time and bowling skills to help raise money for a local program called After School Kids (ASK), which serves elementary school students in the Roseville, MN school district.
ASK Program Director Lisa Lovdahl said, "We really appreciated having the players at our event, and are always looking for college students to work and volunteer with our program. It gives our kids some great role models to look up to."
Junior captain
David Freed (Oakdale, Minn.) was among the twenty players who attended the Bowl-A-Thon. "It was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed meeting some new people, bonding as a team, and giving to a great cause."
Bethel baseball players enjoy several opportunities to give back to the community. Through fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, youth baseball camps, and a long-standing tradition of working with kids at Twins Fest, the Royals are expected to be leaders on and off the field.
After beginning the 2012 season 2-0, the Royals will face No. 6 UW-Whitewater on March 7th and Grandview on March 12th in the Metrodome before their annual spring break trip to Ft. Myers, FL from March 16th through the 25th.
