ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Saturday will be a pivotal day for Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) football, as Bethel travels to St. Paul to take on the University of St. Thomas in the battle of undefeated opponents. The Royals (5-0, 3-0 MIAC) are fresh off perhaps one of the most dramatic wins in NCAA Division III history last week, defeating No. 25 Concordia 15-14 with no time remaining. The Tommies (5-0, 3-0 MIAC) haven't had it easy either, opening up the season with a 27-24 come-from-behind win over UW-Eau Claire and a 28-14 win over Gustavus last week that wasn't decided until the final five minutes.

As if more hype was needed – Saturday's game will be the first time in the 10-year history of d3football.com that two undefeated MIAC Top 10-ranked teams go head-to-head. BU, who has been victorious in consecutive one-point games, will enter O'Shaughnessy Stadium as the only team to beat St. Thomas on Palmer Field in the Tommies' last 26 home contests. That came in 2010 when the Royals topped the Toms 12-7, shutting out UST in the final 57 minutes of the NCAA Division III quarterfinal game. The purple and silver have been victorious 25 times at home since 2008, however.

According to the Tommie web site, St. Thomas officials are preparing for a potential standing-room crowd of near 6,000 for Saturday's MIAC battle at Palmer Field in O'Shaughnessy Stadium. Kickoff is set to begin at 1:10 p.m.

There's no advance ticket sale, however, gates will open and tickets will go on sale at several locations at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for students (age five and under free).
