EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The Royals had a difficult Tuesday as they ended the day dropping two matches against UW-Eau Claire and St. Scholastica as part of the Eau Claire tournament. The Bethel women drop to 3-3 on the season.

Against Eau Claire the Royals looked to keep their momentum going from this weekend, but had a tough time getting this started. After going down in game one 22-25 the women went down in straight sets, lossing 3-0. As a team Bethel had 32 kills, and MIAC setter/libero of the week Valerie Smith (Jr., Alexandria, Minn.) had 14 digs.

In game two against St. Scholastia Smith had 20 digs, while senior Nicole Wriedt had 12 kills. Kate Smith also contributed 22 assists for the Royals. However it was not enough as Bethel went down against St. Scholastica in straight sets.

The Royals will be back in action this weekend as they host games as part of the Bethel Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
