ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Augsburg took the Royals to five sets on Wednesday night as they defeated Bethel 3-2. With the loss the Royals overall record comes to 11-5 and are 3-1 in MIAC play.

The Bethel women got off to a fast start winning the first set 25-12, then saw a reverse in set two as Augsburg won 25-18. The thrid match was close but the Royals won 25-21, before going down 25-21 in the fourth and 18-16 in the fifth.

Caitie Helle (Jr., Onamia, Minn.) lead the offense with 13 kills, Kate Smith (Sr., Arden Hills, Minn.) had 41 assists, and Valerie Smith (Jr., Alexandria, Minn.) had 33 digs.

The Royals will compete in the Central Invitational this Friday and Saturday, with games against Central, St. Catherine, and Loras.
