CLAREMONT, Fla. - The Bethel Softball team finished their final day in Florida by defeating Luther College 3-2 and falling to Hope College 8-2.

Randi Thompson pitched a phenomenal game for the Royals against Luther. Thompson went the distance pitching all 9 innings while scattering 8 hits and striking out 7 batters. Rachel Gilbert, Rebecca Akerson, and Brianna Lyding all had one hit and an RBI in the game to give the Royals a 3-2 win.

In game two, the Royals only managed 3 hits, with one coming off the bat of Kelly Berg as her and Rachel Gilbert had the two RBI in the game. Akerson pitched all seven innings for the Royals and took the loss to Hope College.

Bethel ended the trip 9-7 and will take on Gustavus Adolphus College March 30, when they begin conference play.
