Messiah College Gives Women's Softball a 4-1 Setback

CLERMONT, FL - Bethel began action in day 4 of spring break play facing Messiah College. Messiah with a strong second inning scored 3 runs and that gap was enough to evade the Royals and win by a final of 4-1.

Randi Thompson (Sr., Blaine, Minn.) was atop the mound once again for the Royals pitching 6 innings, only giving up 7 hits and 4 runs. The Royals offense was lead by senior Kelly Berg, Kelly Newell (Sr., Sauk Centre, Minn.), Cristina Masten (Fr., Fergus Falls, Minn.), and Jess Newstrom (So., Cambridge, Minn.). Each of the 4 Royals had a hit against Messiah. Bethel left 5 runners on base and had 3 errors in the game. They now move to a record of 2-5 and will face Wesleyan University later today.
