CLERMONT, FL - Competition got underway today as the Royals opened spring break play against SUNY Plattsburgh. The game was a highly contested pitchers dual as the game went scoreless into the 4th inning before Plattsburgh was able to score one run in the bottom of the 4th and 5th innings to set the final at 2-0.

Randi Thompson (Blaine, Minn.) took the mound for the Royals pitching 6 innings only allowing 5 hits and 2 runs.
Megan Matson (So., Mound, Minn.) got the only hit of the game for Bethel when she doubled off Plattsburgh's Ashley Marshall in the top of the 6th.
The Royals have 13 games remaining in this trip and will face UW- Stout later today.
