BOX SCORE

ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- Wednesday evening at the Robertson Center, the Bethel Men's Basketball team took on fellow MIAC opponent in the form of the Hamline University Pipers. The Pipers entered Wednesday's game with 10-5 conference record, good for third in the conference. The Royals looked to knock the Pipers down in those standings in tonight's affair, unfortunately those hopes never came to fruition as Bethel lost by a score of 91-79.

For much of the first half of play, the score remained close with a few lead changes during the half. The Pipers closed out the first half of play with a narrow 45-37 lead, a lead that was within striking distance for the Royals offense if they could put together a solid second half.

During the second, the Royals fought hard, but it wasn't enough as the Pipers continued to extend their lead during regulation. Carl Hipp had a strong second half of play for Hamline and finished the night with a team-leading 26 points. Hipp also chipped in with 7 rebounds, as he finished the night shooting 10-12 from the field. Bethel's Taylor Hall (So., Blaine, Minn.) was equally as good, finishing with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Daniel Baah (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) also aided in the Royal's effort with 17 points. Baah also had 5 assists and 5 steals to go along with his point total.

The Royals will continue play this weekend at Augsburg College. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
