MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Bethel Men's Basketball team took on the Concordia College Cobbers Saturday afternoon up in Moorhead after suffer a lose last Wednesday to the Saint John's University Johnnies. The Royals were looking to regroup and collect another win, but it was not meant to be Saturday with Bethel falling to Concordia 67-53.
The Royals kept the game relatively close in the first half of play, as they only trailed by five heading into the intermission.
Christian Skinner (Fr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) had an excellent first half collecting 10 points while shooting 50 percent from the field.
While Skinner had the hot hand in the first, the rest of the squad had a tough time finding any rhythm. Bethel finished the game shooting a dismal 36.4 percent. In the Royals previous match-up with the Cobbers at the Robertson Center, the exact opposite could be said as Bethel shot 54.5 percent from 3-point range. However, they couldn't quite bring that magic to Moorhead with them today. Concordia's first half lead held up throughout the second and they went onto capture their third consecutive win, thus drastically improving their positioning in the MIAC playoff hunt.
The Royals had only two players with more than eight points in the game. Skinner finished his performance with 13 points and
Daniel Baah (Jr., Lakeville, Minn.) added 10. The other three starters combined for only 10 points.
Bethel will continue play this week when they take on Hamline University Wednesday evening at the Robertson Center. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m.
