Royals Can't Find A Remedy For The Auggies; Lose 70-60

February 12, 2011

Greg Meyer had 15 points to help aid the Royals effort.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - For the second time this year, the Bethel Royals have battled Augsburg College without a win to show for it. On Saturday afternoon, the Royals couldn't push past the Auggies attack and fell by a score of 70-60.

Bethel and Augsburg played a back-and-forth match throughout much of the first half of play with the Auggies clinging to a slight 33-25 lead at halftime. With the Royals within striking distance of taking the lead, a strong second half performance would be crucial to the outcome of the game.

Much the same story in the second as the game remained close, but Bethel could never muster up a lead. In the end, the Auggies came away with their second victory of the Royals squad on the season. Augsburg had a balanced scoring attack led by Parker Hines who had 16 points on the night. Tyler Schmidt also chipped in with 15 points to aid the Augsburg effort.

For Bethel, Daniel Baah (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) had a nice game collecting 23 points. Baah was 8-13 shooting from the field and also tied for the team lead in rebounds with 6. Greg Meyer (So., Brooklyn Center, Minn.) also had a strong performance for the Royals, as he contributed 15 points.

The Royals will hope for a better outcome Monday night when they return to action at the Robertson Center. Bethel will be playing host to Carleton College who recently knocked off top-ranked St. Thomas University last week. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
