Nicole Wriedt (Sr., Pewaukee, Wis.) and Valerie Smith (Jr., Alexandria, Minn.) headlined the All-Tournament Team as the Royals squad went 4-0 to win the weekend event. Bethel University tabbed another pair of wins on Saturday, defeating Finlandia (1-24) and Augsburg College (12-8) by scores of 3-0. They now stand at 20-6 on the season and return to MIAC conference play on Friday.
The Royals were dominant both offensively and defensively on Saturday. The out-hit their opponents by nearly .300 and topped both foes in both blocks and digs. The closest set score on the day was a 25-20 opening set win over Augsburg College in the team's final match of the tournament. Bethel topped Finlandia 25-12, 25-11, 25-16 and defeated Augsburg 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.
Middle hitter Amy Werner (Jr., Three Lakes, Wis.) put up double figures in kills both matches, leading the squad with 10 and 12 kills, respectively. She was the only Royals player to notch double figures in kills. Smith had team high digs performances on Saturday to guide the squad's defensive effort. She also played a key role in the receiving game and allowed the offense to run smoothly and effectively. On the flip side, Smith's serving drew four aces in the match against Finlandia.

Cierra Nickel (Fr., Sanborn, Minn.) got the opportunity to step in and run the Royals' offense. Nickel did a great job, dishing out 34 assists, racking up a trio of ace serves and digging four balls. In the final match of the weekend ,
Kate Smith (Sr., Arden Hills, Minn.) returned to her regular setting role, finishing with 33 assists, four kills, three digs and a solo block.
