Daniel Baah drained a last second three pointer to lift the Bethel Men's Basketball team to victory Wednesday evening at the Robertson Center. With the game tied at 63, Baah's shot tickled the twine as the buzzer sounded to give the Royals a 66-63 victory. Baah would finish the game with 25 points, while
Taylor Hall and
Christian Skinner each contributed 12 points.
In a game that was close the whole way the Royals were thankful in large part to their free throw shooting. Bethel shot 12-13 from the line, and also shot 50% from the field in the second half. The Cardinals went 11-21, shooting 52.4% from the field in the first half, but were only able to put up 8-22 shooting 36.4 % in the second. St. Mary's was also 0-6 from 3 point range in the second half.
The largest lead in the game came with just over 3 minutes to play in the first half when the Cardinals lead by 7. The majority of the second half the score was less than a 4 point spread.
In addition to scoring the game winner Baah had 4 assist, 3 steals, and 4 rebounds. Hall had 5 rebounds, 5 turnovers, and 2 steals. Also contributing
Christian Skinner had 4 rebounds and 12 first half points. The Royals had 15 points from the bench 7 of which came from J.D. Robinson.
Bethel will be in action again on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. when the travel to St. Paul to take on the St. Thomas Tommies.
