INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Bethel Men's Soccer team traveled down to Indianola, Iowa on Monday to take on the Simpson College Storm. In a brief hiatus from conference play, the Royals attempted to get back on the winning track, however those hopes would be abandoned with a 4-1 lose to the Storm.
Simpson struck first with a goal just under eight minutes into play. With the early 1-0 lead, Simpson would add another score extend their lead to 2-0 before Bethel's
Brent Neihart added the lone Royals goal on the afternoon to push the score to 2-1. The Storm would tack on another goal late in the first half of play, ending the half with a 3-1 lead.
In need of a comeback, the Royals couldn't solve the Storm's defense as they struggled to get any offense. Simpson's 3-1 lead proved to be too much to tackle for the Royals. The Storm would go on to add one more goal in the second half to end the scoring and the game 4-1.
Despite the lose the Royals are 2-2 in their previous four matches heading into play Saturday where they will take on the University of St. Thomas Tommies in a conference match-up. They game will be held at the St. Thomas campus at 11 a.m.
