FT. MYERS, Fla. - Bethel's baseball team moved quickly to sweep a double-header from Millikin University a day after squaring off with the Twins Rookie team in an exhibition game.

The first game proved to be another dramatic finish for the Royals on this year's trip to Florida. Bethel scored first in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike Sedjo (So., West Chicago, Ill.) that scored John Slick (Sr., River Falls, Wis.), who finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run to lead the offense.

Over the next four innings the game went back and forth, with both teams scoring runs to tie the game at 4-4 heading into the seventh.  After a scoreless top half of the inning, the Royals came to the plate with a chance to end the game.

Once the Royals loaded the bases with two out, Erik Anderson (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn.) drew an RBI walk-off walk to lead the Royals to the win.  Kyle McCracken (Sr., Johnston, Iowa) turned out another great pitching performance, going all seven inning,s giving up four runs on his way to improving to 4-0 on the year.

The second game was all about the Royals as they won convincingly 12-2.  Offensively Bethel was near unstoppable through the first five innings, and eight different players had hits in the 11-hit effort, headlined by Slick, who went 2-for-2 with two runs and three RBI; and Sedjo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run.  Tim Oesterlin (Sr., Rochester, Minn.) also chipped in two hits and scored three runs.

On the mound, Chris Harrell (Jr., Minnetrista, Minn.) was nearly untouchable in the first complete game performance of his collegiate career. He scattered four hits over seven innings, allowing just one earned run, and striking out four for his second win of the year.

The Royals moved to 7-5 on the year with the sweep over Big Blue.  They will look to continue their strong play tomorrow when they face Lakeland College for a doubleheader that is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. (9 CT).
