BLAINE, Minn. - Tonight's game was ended in a 3-3 tie against the Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers.  The Bethel Men's Hockey team the scoring in the first period, but Concordia answered with a goal of their own.  By the second period Bethel was up 3-1, but a power play goal, followed by one late in the third period left the game in a tie.  Overtime ensued and neither team was able to score a winning goal.  They each take a point as they face-off tomorrow to complete the series.

The first period began with a goal by Garrett Windle from Ian Jensen and Jake Calleja at  10:19  into the first.  Out-shooting Concordia, Bethel's intensity and scoring chances were many in the first.  But, Concordia's point followed a controversial holding call and a reviewed goal to put the game at a tie going into the locker room.

In the second period, the Royals were firing on all cylinders.  Increasing their shots by 50% (15 total) and adding 2 more goals to the scoreboard, they took control of the game.  Mason Swenson scored his goal on a four-on-three power play from Jon Crouse while Garrett Windle scored his second of the night from Jack Paul and Jon Crouse.  Concordia answered one on a power play at 16:00 and the period ended with a score 3-2 in favor of the Royals.

That was all for Bethel's scoring, but Concordia was not finished and came out in the third period in search of a tying goal.  They found it with just 3:18 left in the period.  This ended regulation time in a tie and the overtime was dominated by Bethel's scoring line.  However, neither team was able to put one past each others goaltender and the game ended in a tie.

Join us tomorrow as Bethel Men's Hockey finishes its series with Concordia Moorhead.  It's another home game at the Bethel University Arena, puck drops at 2:00 p.m.
