ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- The Bethel University Men's Basketball team played host to Trinity International University at the Robertson Center Friday evening in their annual Perkin's Tip-Off Tournament. Traveling from Chicago, the Trojans of Trinity International took on the Royals in the 8 p.m. match-up and came out ahead 73-64

Both teams came out playing stellar defense and scoring chances were limited throughout much of the first half of play. Trinity International strung together a couple baskets to give them the slight advantage at half, heading into the locker room with a 33-26 lead. After the first half, Kellan Dahlquist (Jr., Foley, Minn.) led the team with 8 points while Taylor Hall (So., Blaine, Minn.) and Daniel Baah (Jr., Farmington, Minn.) each chipped in with 5 points a piece.

Entering back on the hardwood for the second half, the Royals tried to mount a comeback, but fell short of that attempt as Trinity International would go on to post 40 points to Bethel's 38 in the second half of play. Hall rounded out the evening with 13 points, while Dahlquist finished with 11 points in the Royals defeat. Lithuania native, Ignas Verbus led the Trojans with 16 points in their victory.

With the loss the Royals now fall to 0-2 on the early season and look to place their name in the win column tomorrow evening where they will be taking on Wisconsin Lutheran at 6 p.m. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse defeated Wisconsin Lutheran in the 6 p.m. game earlier this evening by a score of 86-54.
