ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Royals took out the Ole's tonight in convincing fashion, dropping the #12 team in the country in straight sets (23-25, 23-25, 6-25).
Bethel took charge of this match right from the beginning and never gave it back. One of the biggest keys for the Royals success was an unbelievable amount of blocks. The team put up 20 team blocks a huge number for a three game match. Leading the way on blocks for the Royals was
Amy Werner (So., Three Lakes, Wis.) who had 11 blocks, a stats which leads the MIAC for number of blocks in a three game match.
Hannah Parks (Sr., Plymouth, Minn.) who had 5 service aces, 10 digs, and 4 blocks lead the offense for the Royals.
Kate Smith (Jr., Arden Hills, Minn.) was also a major contributor to the offense with 17 assists.
The Royals improve their overall record to 9-12, and 2-4 in the MIAC. The women will be back in action tomorrow night as the host non-conference challenger UW-Superior at 6 p.m.
