NORTHFIELD, Minn
. - Traveling down to face St. Olaf, the Bethel Royals were looking to put an end to their three-game losing streak, but poor shooting stifled the Royals, who fell to the Oles, 75-59. A four-minute scoring drought early in the second half pushed the Royals deficit from five points to 13, a lead St. Olaf would never relinquish.

In the first half, the Royals developed some rhythm on the offense side of the ball, scoring 32 points, led by Daniel Baah, (So., Farmington, Minn.) with 13 points on 5-for-8 shooting. However, the Oles shot well from the floor, 46.7% in the half, and took a five point lead into halftime.

The second half would get away from Bethel early on as St. Olaf pushed the five point lead to 13 seven minutes later and 20 with 10 minutes left. The Royals made a small run to cut the deficit back down to 13 with eight minutes remaining, but were unable to chip away at the lead from there.

Bethel forced double-digit turnovers yet again, 18 total, but could not capitalize enough on the offense end, shooting just 26% in the second half. Both teams committed more turnovers than assists in today's game, but St. Olaf was able to shoot 50% from the field, making up for their sloppy play.

The Royals got to the foul line 30 times in the game, but missed 11 free-throws, while the Oles made 28 of their 38.

Baah led Bethel with 19 points, while Nate Robertson (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) and Rob Lang (Sr., Johnston, Iowa) also scored in double figures, with 17 and 10, respectively. St. Olaf had four players score in double digits, led by Mark Torell's 16 points.

After the loss, the Royals slip to 5-7 (1-6) and the Oles improve to 5-7 (3-4). Bethel will look to get back on the winning track this Wednesday as they stay on the road at Augsburg College, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
