MINNEAPOLIS - Looking to end their four-game skid, the Royals were unable to make-up for poor first half shooting as Bethel fell against the Auggies, 85-73.

Bethel made only 8-of-26 field goals in the first half, but remained in the game, going into halftime trailing by 12 points, 37-25. Despite Augsburg shooting 50% from the field, the game stayed close because Bethel made all 8 of their first half free-throws while the Auggies shot just 4-for-11 from the charity stripe.

In the second, the Royals made significant improvement, shooting the ball effectively and putting up 48 points in the half. However, it would not be enough as the Auggies continued their hot shooting, 58% from the field, holding onto their lead and winning by a dozen.

For the game, Bethel out-rebounded the Auggies 22 to 17, but the three-point shooting of Augsburg was too much for the Royal defense. The Auggies made 11-of-19 from beyond the arc, and four players scored in double figures.

For the Royals, Daniel Baah (So., Farmington, Minn.) and Nate Robertson (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) did most of the damage on the offensive end. Baah led Bethel with a career-high 28 points on 11-for-19 shooting and Robertson put together a solid double-double, scoring 23 points and pulling down 14 rebounds. He also held the opposing post player to nine points on 2-for-4 shooting. It was his first double-double since Jan. 28 of last season, and his third as a Royal.

Jon Cassens led the Auggies with 23 points.

After the loss, the Royals drop to 5-8 on the season and Augsburg improves to 10-3. Next, Bethel will be hosting Gustavus Adolphus College, as the Gusties make the trip up to the Robertson Center this Saturday, with the game beginning 3 p.m.
