ARDEN HILLS, Minn.
- Constantly pressuring Martin Luther from the outset, the Royals used the fast-break to get ahead early, routing the Knights, 90-58.

The Bethel offense attacked all game long, using the dribble drive to set up back-cuts and post entries. In the first half, Chris Vavra (Sr., Cambridge,Minn.) scored 13 points and Nate Robertson (Sr., Forest Lake, Minn.) added another 10 to give the Royals a 47-28 lead at half.

Coming out of halftime, Bethel continued adding to the deficit, leading by 29 with eight minutes remaining. The Royals' size and athleticism proved far more than the Knights could handle as Robertson, Vavra, Daniel Baah (So., Farmington, Minn.), and the rest of the Bethel players got easy baskets in transition. The Royal bench also got into the action, piling up 28 points, led by center Zac Mathson (Fr., Cambridge, Minn.), who scored 14 points and had five rebounds.

For the game, the Royals shot 57 percent from the field, while holding Martin Luther to 41percent and three of nine from the three-point line. Vavra led Bethel with 18 points, while Robertson and Greg Meyer (Fr., Brooklyn Center, Minn.) tallied 16 and 15, respectively.

Greg Holzhueter was the Knights leading scorer with 16, including 10-13 from the charity stripe.

The Royals are now 5-3 on the season, and the Knights fall to 1-5. The team now has three weeks to prepare for their next opponent, Concordia College, as they move into the heart of the conference season. The game will be played January, 2, at the Robertson Center, beginning at 6 p.m.
