ST. PAUL, Minn. - Scoring her 1,000th point with just over six minutes remaining in the game,
Annegret Nautsch (Sr., Everett, Wash.) pointed to the sky and continued to lead her team into a 70-56 victory over the College of St. Catherine Wildcats.
The two teams played back and forth in the first half, neither team pulling ahead for any significant length of time. The Royals were in the game leading 33-28 going into halftime, but they really got things going in the second half. Bethel defended and shot well and began to accumulate a comfortable lead on St. Catherine.

Along with reaching a milestone in her career at Bethel, Nautsch led her team in points and had her fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Her 1,003 career points puts her 12th all-time at Bethel, while her 729 rebounds is second. She needs just 54 more rebounds to surpass the current record holder, who is Kim Carlson, an assistant coach with the team.
The Royals had three other players scoring in the double digits.
Autumn Beasley (Fr., Medina, Minn.) had 16 points, scoring 13 of those points in the second half. Following her was
Alexa Grones (Sr., Tamarack, Minn.) with 11 points, which consisted of nine points from the three-point arc and
Shana Grejtak (So., Franklin, Minn.) with 10 points and eight rebounds for the night.
Brooke Hakanson led the Wildcats with 14 points and 10 rebounds, followed by Laura Kalbfell scoring 12 points in the game.
The win improves Bethel's record to 2-2 in MIAC play and 3-2 overall and St. Catherine also sits at 2-2 in MIAC play and is 5-2 overall. The Royals now take a break from the action until Dec. 29, when they are scheduled to play Chapman at 7 p.m. (PDT) in the Tiger-Panther Classic, which takes place in Los Angeles.
