Nautsch returns for her senior year after a stellar season in 2007-08. Nautsch led the conference in rebounds with 303 and blocked shots with 99, and finished in a tie for third among MIAC players with 403 points. Her block total was good for fifth in the nation among Division III women's basketball players with ten of those blocks coming in one game against Augsburg. During that game against the Auggies, she posted a triple-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds in addition to her blocks, helping the Royals set a new single game scoring record with their 99-92 overtime win. She also posted at least a double-double in 13 other games, including five of the first six games. Nautsch now holds the single season rebounding record, breaking a 25-year old mark by one. In addition to earning All-MIAC honors, she earned her second MIAC All-Defensive team award, and was named to the D3hoops.com All-West Region first team. She was named MIAC Sixth Player of the Year for the 2006-07 season and is a D3hoops.com Preseason All-American Third Team member for 2008-09. Nautsch is majoring in community health with a minor in biology.
Coach Herbrechtsmeyer says, "In 20 years of coaching, I have never had a player who works harder on and off the court. As a result, she has become one of the most dominant players inside the paint."
About Annegret: Nautsch graduated from Washington High School in 2005. During high school she participated and lettered in basketball and track. She also earned awards for Academic Letter, National Honor Society, Honor Roll, and MVP. In her free time, Annegret likes to read, cook, listen to music, travel, and play games with friends. She is majoring in Community Health/Pre-Physical Therapy and minoring in Biology.
Why Bethel?: "I chose to come to Bethel because I liked the idea of a smaller school located in a large city."
