Newstrom stepped up her game against St. Thomas last weekend and played two remarkable games. The Tommies entered Friday night's game in first place, only to be shutout by Newstrom, who recorded 47 saves on the night. The following afternoon, Newstrom allowed just one goal in regulation, which forced overtime as the two teams were tied at 1-1. Although St. Thomas scored in the sudden death overtime period, Newstrom held a potent Tommie team scoreless for 56:46 of game time, making an additional 31 saves. Newstrom currently has the second highest save percentage in the conference.
