The following afternoon, Newstrom allowed just one goal in regulation, which forced overtime as the two teams were tied at 1-1. Although St. Thomas scored in the sudden death overtime period, Newstrom held a potent Tommie team scoreless for 56:46 of game time, making an additional 31 saves. Newstrom currently has the second highest save percentage in the conference.
