Nicole Wriedt was a key factor in both of Bethel's matches last week. The Royals won both by way of shutout over the Gustavus Gusties on Friday night and the Hamline Pipers on Saturday afternoon. Wriedt was the match leader in kills and points against Gustavus, had two set-clinching kills, and an outstanding .424 hitting percentage. Less than 24 hours later, Wriedt had an additional seven kills, an ace, three digs, and three block assists for 9.5 points. She had only one attack error in 17 attempts as the Royals went on to improve to 5-1 in conference play. The senior hitter currently has 982 career kills. Thanks to Wriedt's efforts, the Royals are enjoying their best conference record through six matches since 2007 when Bethel made NCAA playoffs. Also, five conference wins equals and bests the season totals for the 2008, 2009, and 2010 teams. Bethel is in 4-way tie for first in the MIAC standings at the moment.
