Sheila McGill

Sheila McGill will enter her first season as Bethel Univerrsity women's soccer coach in 2026.

McGill comes to the Royals following 19 seasons at former MIAC foe, and current NCAA Division I member St. Thomas (Minn.). She led the Tommies to four MIAC Regular Season Championships, and two MIAC Tournament Titles while accumulating a 184-113-45 overall record. McGill is a three-time United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division III Region Coach of the Year, and a three-time MIAC Coach of the Year. Academically, the Tommies were four-time winners of the United Soccer Coaches Team Award For Highest GPA under McGill's watch.

Prior to joining the Tommies, McGill spent four seasons as assistant women's soccer coach at St. Catherine.  She also had stops with the White Bear Lake and St. Paul Blackhawks club programs, and served as a regional staff and head coach with the Olympic Development Program.

McGill was a four-year member of the Saint Mary's (Minn.) women's soccer team, where she obtained her bachelor's degree in 1997. 

"I'm thrilled to lead the women's soccer program at Bethel University and return to the MIAC," said McGill. "With Bethel's proud history and strong foundation, I know this program is poised for success. I can't wait to hit the ground running and get to work."
