Derek is a 2012 graduate from Bloomington, Minnesota, where he participated in football and baseball.  In football, Derek was All-Conference Honorable Mention and a three year letter winner.  Derek was also a Scholar Athlete in baseball.  Derek was honored with the “AAA” Award for outstanding achievement in Arts, Athletics, and Academics.  Derek was a member of NHS, choir, and a AP Scholar with Distinction.  Son of Mark and Kristin McGaffey, Derek is majoring in Biokinetics while minoring in Biology and Chemistry.  Derek is a member of the Bethel University Dean’s List.  Transfer from St Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
