Coach Peterson, in his 17th year coaching at Bethel, is beginning his sixth year coordinating Bethel’s offense. As the Royals wide receiver coach, he has coached six of Bethel’s top 10 all-time receivers and has been instrumental in developing an offense that has been rated among the best in the nation.
Last season under the direction of Peterson, Bethel’s offense finished second in rushing offense and time of possession. And thanks to a strong offensive line, the team also allowed the fewest sacks in MIAC play.
A four-year starter on the Bethel offense from 1988-91 and a member of the Royals’ basketball team, Peterson graduated from Bethel in 1992 with a degree in elementary education and in 2004 earned his master’s degree in organizational leadership. In addition to his coaching duties, Peterson is Bethel’s assistant athletic director.
He and his wife Alison live in White Bear Lake with their two sons Gunnar, 4, Wyatt, 2, and daughter Marin, an infant.
