Royals Cruise Past Polars

ARDEN HILLS, MINN.—The Bethel University baseball team defeated Crown 15-5 (8 Innings) at Hargis Park on Wednesday. The game was suspended through 2.5 innings at US Bank Stadium due to time constraints on March 3.

The Royals improve to 24-7, while the Polars fall to 7-22.

Bethel pounded 18 hits in the contest, and held Crown to just six.

Royals starting pitcher Roman Lachenmayer allowed just six hits, five runs (none earned), two walks, and notched six strikeouts over 6.0 innings of work. Zach Johnson and Brandon Witter each pitched 1.0 inning and allowed no hits. The eighth inning saw Witter strikeout the side.

Drew Girtz was all over the stat sheet against his former team as he went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs scored, four stolen bases, one RBI, and two walks. Also hitting a home run was Sam Abbas, who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, four RBI, and one walk. Tyler Allshouse went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs scored, and three RBI.

Going 3-for-4 with two runs scored, two RBI, and two walks was Seth Nelson. Chris Cannon's 2-for-4 outing included one run scored, two RBI, and one walk while Hayden Sperbeck also went 2-for-4, and added one run scored, and one RBI. Oran Hinkle drew three walks, and scored two runs.

Bethel will travel to St. Olaf (DH) on Saturday, April 25 for a 1 p.m. start.
