SAINT PAUL, MINN.—The Bethel University men's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 road victory over Hamline on Thursday.
The Royals improve to 16-2, 4-2 MIAC, while the Pipers fall to 3-12, 1-5 MIAC.

Two-of-three doubles matches went in Bethel's favor courtesy of a 6-3 victory from Carter Sheard/Dylan Magistad at No. 1, and a 6-0 thumping from Micah Gustafson/Zach Bengtson at No. 3.
A highly-anticipated match between Carter Sheard and Hamline's Wyatt Crowell occurred at No. 1 singles. As expected, the match was settled in a tiebreaker as Carter Sheard prevailed by a 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) decision.Â
Kade Bishop continued to cement himself as the best No. 5 singles player in NCAA Division III as he cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory. Gustafson also won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6. Magistad took care of business 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 spot, while Zack Chaffey rounded out the Bethel victories with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) triumph at No. 4.Â
Watson Sheard dropped a hard-fought 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) battle at No. 3 singles.
The Royals will host Concordia (Minn.) on Saturday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m.
